Qigong

What you will learn? What is Chinese Qigong? They are postures of Qigong, which stretch and develop the mind and body to a preferred state of being. These exercises are thousands of years old. Developed from the study of animals in how they cared for themselves and their survival methods. Before human beings interfered, animals were seldom ill. The most important aspects of their lives were to hunt and reproduce. Have you ever noticed that when the sun rises and sets, the animal and insect world comes to life, it is spectacular. The entire world is singing and stretching. It is the dance of life.

What I will teach in these classes. Through progression of the exercises, students will learn how to strengthen, cleanse, and stretch the body. A focus applies to our energy, ensuring we understand how it works and flows throughout our bodies. It differs from other forms of yoga, and I respect that students have a choice in their preferred system of learning. One essential distinction is that I will also teach the internal and external aspects of our energy and body, which include a progressive learning of breathing, meditation and philosophy.

The benefits appear quickly, but each student progresses at their own pace. It is not a race but a chance to learn a life changing health system. At the end of each class, I will teach the philosophy of Qigong. My preference is to offer an entire learning system to help students cultivate their energy, not just with physical exercise, but to exercise the mind within the heart.

To learn is to advance towards our own personal enlightenment. It will need an amount of dedication and practice working through the highs and lows of our own unfolding personality. We are, as they say, the greatest mystery.

I have steered clear off the western adaptions and only teach traditional Qigong. I hope you will find the Qigong I teach to you, beneficial and uplifting.

The benefits

Energy naturally follows our mind. Where we point our consciousness to, our Qi will flow and gather. If you focus at the top of your head, the crown will tingle and then become warm. The same applies to anywhere you focus on your body. This becomes a unique experience for all of us. We have all been created with the same potential, therefore with practice, anyone can feel their energy and then develop their understanding of what it means to become in harmony with our living life force.

Breathing is key to unfolding the great mystery of focus and directing our Qi to where we want it to go and what we require it to do within us. Qi has its own intelligence therefore, breath, Qigong, Tai Chi and meditation are all connected through the heart. 108 breaths in meditation, 108 postures in Qigong and Tai Chi. 108 emotions on our medicine wheel. The essence of love will flow through our heart and all living things that make up our lives if we just simply breathe from our heart.
